I am feeling refreshed, leaving Zion. I’m also very much looking forward to the weeks ahead. My next stop is Antelope Island on the Great Salt Lake in Utah. With it being so close to a major city I’m unsure of the Milky Way prospects. However, I have heard a lot of great things about this place, leaving me very excited.

Just a short 5 hour drive from Zion, Antelope Island provided many surprises. First thing I noticed was a very big “Bison are Angry” sign as you enter the park. Had me re-thinking setting up a tent, that for sure. Secondly, and I’m not sure why, but I thought it would be a little cooler! Instead, it was still just over a 100 degrees at my campsite. Lastly, and the most important part, is that I somehow happened on a Dunkin Donuts!

After dinner, I plugged the good old reliable “Starbucks” into my gps. Of course there was won within 1.2 miles of my location. But as I turned the corner there it was, the great big letters of D and D. Sunset was closing in and I knew I was going to try and stay up late, I grabbed an extra Large coffee and headed back to camp.

Could it get any better than this. It was finally cooling off and there was the just the right amount of clouds in the sky for a some great photos.

Thoughts from the road:

How close do you have to be to a Bison before it shows its anger?

Music from the road:
