“Christmas…it’s the day we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, our Savior. Amid the Glitter and busyness of the season, may you not lose sight of the miracle and meaning of that Christmas night. With the shepherds and wise men, let us fall down and worship Him!”
-Billy and Ruth Graham
My family and I went to the Billy Graham Library for the first day of Christmas at the Library. The Billy Graham Library is located on Westmont Drive in Charlotte, North Carolina. This was my first visit to the library and I did not know what to expect.
The first thing we encountered was the live nativity scene just outside of the library.
Once we entered the library, we were greeted and given a complimentary book titled This Christmas Night. We were told the tour of the library would take more than an hour, so my family and I decided to get something to eat before starting the tour. There is a reasonably priced restaurant inside the library that serves a variety of sandwiches.
After eating, we began the tour of the library. The tour takes you from room to room where you learn about the lives of Billy and Ruth Graham and their journey in faith. Each room offers video information to educate all who visit the library.
There are also elaborate sets that take you back in time during your visit.
The tour is very informative and uplifting. In the final room of the tour is a video clip of Billy Graham at one of his revivals. The message is clear to all who are there.
When you exit the last room of the tour, you walk through this wonderful exit.
Guests who are so moved are welcome to meet with volunteers for prayer and guidance upon exiting the tour. Although you feel welcome to do this, there is absolutely no pressure to do so.
I found my visit to the Billy Graham Library to be such a pleasant event and perfect way to begin the Christmas season.
