Many times I am itching to travel to take pictures.  However, sometimes I just need to stay close to home.  Whether I am traveling or near home, I feel the strong need to photograph every weekend.

A couple of weekends ago, my friend, Lorraine, and I decided to see where our cameras would take us in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Our first stop was Glencairn Garden.    Glencairn is absolutely gorgeous in the spring when the azaleas and dogwoods are blooming.  On this particular  morning, I was focusing on the dogwoods and the fountains.

After a while at the garden, we decided to take a walk down Main Street in Rock Hill.  There I found a couple of things that caught my attention.

Shadow Play

As the sun began to rise from behind the building, these shadows became more and more interesting.  I stayed with this subject for quite some time.

The combination of the old architecture with the reflections in the windows drew me to my last subject of the day.

Lorraine Shannon and I teach workshops which help you compose creative images using subjects in nature and man-made subjects.  We have two workshops coming up.  We will be teaching our Nature and Not:  Creativity is Key workshop in both the Charlotte area and in the Atlanta, Georgia area.  You can find information about these workshops by clicking on the links for each location.  You can find information about all of my workshops by looking at the drop-down menu under the events tab on my website.  We would love to have you join us!
